Australia is one of the must see places in the world, and Sydney especially has so much things to do and see that you will spend
so much time exploring. Over 3 million visitors visit Sydney a year, and never leave disappointed. Apart from all of the arts
and culture that Sydney is steeped in, there are also so many natural attractions to see including the Sydney Aquarium.

It is always amazing to visit this aquatic wonderland located on the eastern side ofDarling Harbour. Home to over 650 different species of aquatic life, and more than 6000 individual fishand other sea creatures, you will be awed by the vibrant display of colours and habitats which are native to Australia. The best attractions in the aquarium are the see through glass tunnels. You can walk literally amongst the fish whilst the sharks swim over head. This is an amazing feeling knowing you are that close to these great creatures. There are also fantastic recreations of the Great Barrier Reef which were completed in 1998. You can see exactly which fish and sea life would live there without actually getting wet. Over 6,000 creatures live in this water tank whichis pumped direct from Sydney Harbour. It is then filtered and heated before being pumped throughout the tanks.
The Sydney Aquarium took two years to build and was opened in 1988 to coincide with the fantastic Australian Bicentenary celebrations. It is now one of the largest aquariums in the world. It has amazing shows and so much to see and do that over 55% of its visitors are from overseas. People travel far to see such an amazing attraction. This aquatic wonderland is split into different exhibits, all offering different aquatic life to see. The five main exhibits are: - Southern Rivers
- Northern Rivers

- Southern Ocean
As you travel through the different exhibits you are taken on a journey of exploration, seeing exactly how the Australian eco-system and water ways work and function.Although a great deal of the exhibits are inside the main building, there are several which are outside in their own floating oceanariums. The best one of these oceanariums is the shark house. Sydney Aquarium is home tothe largest collection of sharks in the world, and these beautiful creatures are amazing to see. Some of these sharks weight up to 300kg and can grow over 3m in length.
In 2006, Wildlife World opened next door, offeringyet more things to do in Sydney. In 2008 the crocodile exhibit was added, displaying yet another one of Australia's great animals.
